Almost every mattress is sealed. The comfort layer is glued to the core, so when it softens, or was never right, the whole thing goes. Ours is closed with a zip. The top lifts out, and we remake it to you.
The difference
A sealed mattress
cannot change.
If the feel is wrong at week 3, a sealed mattress is wrong for 10 years. If it softens at year 6, the whole thing is replaced, springs and all, because the part that wore is glued to the part that did not.
Ours separates them. 20 centimetres of springs guaranteed for 25 years, and 15 centimetres of comfort above it that comes out. Wrong at week 3, we remake it. Soft at year 6, you replace a layer for £299 and keep the bed.

You cannot know how a mattress feels until you have slept on it for weeks. By then the decision is behind you and the money is spent, which is why most people keep a mattress they never liked.
So you do not choose a firmness when you order. Your mattress arrives, you sleep on it, and for a year you tell us how it should feel. We build a new comfort layer to that description and send it, with our compliments.
