In the order you meet them, from the surface down to the frame.
Cool-Knit cover
400g · zip access all the way round
A 400 gram knitted cover, not a laminate. Knit moves air where a bonded surface holds it, so warmth leaves through the top rather than gathering under you.
It unzips the whole way round. That is how the comfort layer comes out, and it is the reason this mattress is renewed rather than replaced.
Gel memory foam
1cm · 28 density
The highest density we use anywhere in the build, and only one centimetre of it. Gel infusion is what stops memory foam behaving the way memory foam usually does.
It contours to your shoulder and hip without holding the heat that contouring normally creates.
Comfort foam
1.5cm · 20 density
The softness you feel in the first second. Softer and lower density than the gel above it, so the surface yields before the support underneath engages.
It is the difference between lying on a mattress and settling into one.
Wave-profile foam
2.5cm · 20 density
Cut into a wave rather than left flat. The profile creates channels through the middle of the comfort stack.
Air moves sideways through those channels instead of being trapped between two solid layers. It is a structural answer to heat, not a coating.
Flippable comfort layer
10cm · 2cm at 2540 over 8cm at 2580
Two densities bonded into one layer, and the whole thing lifts out. One face is medium. Turn it over and it is medium firm.
You do not choose a firmness when you order. The mattress arrives with both, and if neither is right we build you a third to your description, with our compliments.
Seven-zone pocket spring core
20cm · 7 zones · 1.8 and 2.0mm wire
Twenty centimetres of individually pocketed springs, arranged in seven zones along the length of the bed. Heavier 2.0mm wire under the hips and shoulders where load concentrates, 1.8mm where it does not.
Each spring moves alone, so one person turning over does not move the other side. Seven zones means the bed holds your spine level instead of letting your hips drop.
Encased perimeter
7cm · 35 density
A dense foam wall around the entire spring unit, 35 density, seven centimetres deep.
You can sit on the edge to put your shoes on without sliding off it, and the usable sleeping surface runs to the seam rather than stopping short of it.
Anti-slip underside
Full base
A gripped base rather than a plain fabric one.
It stays where you put it, on a slatted frame or a divan, without the annual shove back into position.

The top five centimetres are three foams doing three different jobs: contour without heat, immediate give, and airflow through the middle. Beneath them, ten centimetres of flippable comfort layer that lifts out and can be rebuilt to your preference.
Under all of it, twenty centimetres of seven-zone pocket springs that will still be doing their job long after the layer above has been renewed twice.
The part that softens comes out. The part that holds you does not.

If the feel is not right,
we make it right.
Sleep on it for a month. Then tell us how it should feel - softer, firmer, more give under the hip, whatever words you have. We build a new comfort layer to that description and send it, with our compliments. Worth £299.
Nothing goes back. Nothing is disassembled. You unzip the cover, lift the old layer out, drop the new one in.
