Foam holds heat because it is solid and it wraps. Our comfort stack is built to move air through itself, and the core beneath is largely open.

Wave-profile foam
Cut into a wave, so channels run through the middle of the comfort stack. Warmth moves sideways and leaves rather than gathering between two solid layers.

A seven-zone pocket spring core is an open structure. Air moves between every coil, so warmth leaves downward as well as upward instead of being trapped by a solid slab of foam.
It is the reason a sprung mattress sleeps cooler than an all-foam one before anything is added to it.
