You do not choose a firmness when you order, because nobody can answer that question in a showroom. Your mattress arrives, you sleep on it, and for a year you tell us how it should feel. We make it that way.

Year to get the feel right
A year covers a cold January and a hot July. A week when your back is bad, and a week when it is not.
That is the adjustment year. It is not the window to return it.

Four steps, and nothing
leaves your house.

Tell us how it should feel
Write to us in whatever words you have. Softer at the shoulder, firmer under the hip, too much give, not enough. You do not need the terminology and there is no form.

We build a comfort layer to it
Not a replacement of the same thing. A new layer, made to the description you gave us, in the same factory that built the mattress.

It arrives and you swap it
Unzip the cover, lift the old layer out, drop the new one in, zip it closed. Two minutes, no tools. The mattress stays on the bed.

Sleep on it, and tell us again if you need to
Once is usually enough. If it is not, we do it again. For a year, there is no limit. Each layer is with our compliments.
Nothing is sent back. Nothing is collected. The bed you are sleeping on becomes the right one.
Why a year
A bed is not one thing
across twelve months.
You will meet your mattress in four different conditions before you really know it.
Winter
You sleep heavier
Colder rooms, more bedding, longer nights. A surface that felt right in August can feel firm in January.
Summer
You sleep hotter
Less bedding, more movement, shorter nights. The same layer behaves differently at twenty six degrees.
A bad week
Your body changes
A pulled shoulder, a late pregnancy, a month of long drives. What supported you fine in March can be wrong in October.

Because the top
comes off.
Ours is built in two parts and closed with a zip that runs the whole way round. The comfort layer is made as its own product because it always had to come out again.
That is the reason a year is possible. It is not generosity. It is construction.

Returns
100 nights
100 nights to return it. Collection and recycling, £119. No charge in the first 14 days.
These sizes are not covered by the 100 day returns policy in this market. Adjust to Desire still applies. Your statutory right to cancel within 14 days is unaffected.

Two different things. The year is to get the feel right. The nights are to return it. The first 14 days carry no charge.
Afterwards
We keep your specification.
When the year ends you will have arrived at a comfort layer that is right for you. We record what it was.
Order a replacement in year eight and it arrives as your bed feels now, not as it left the factory. Buy a second mattress for another room and we already know how you like it.
We already know how yours should feel.
The detail
- Adjust to Desire. A year to get the feel right. There is no limit on the number of comfort layers within it. Each is with our compliments.
- We do not collect the old layer unless you want us to. If you would rather it went for recycling, tell us and it goes on our next visit to your area.
- The mattress stays with you throughout. Nothing is disassembled and nothing is shipped back.
- The 100 day returns policy is separate and runs from delivery. Emperor is not covered in any market. US King and California King are not covered in the UK and Ireland. Split King is not covered in the UK, Ireland, and the UAE. Adjust to Desire still applies. Your statutory right to cancel within 14 days is unaffected.
